JoFit athlete Mina Harigae shot a final round best 66 Sunday to finish 8th in the LPGA Safeway Classic at Pumpkin Ridge. This is Mina’s first Top 10 finish on the LPGA Tour. Congratulations Mina!
Mina Harigae is one of the rising young stars of women’s professional golf. She is a 21-year-old from Monterey, CA who turned pro in 2009. She finished first on 2009 Duramed Futures Tour season-ending money list, winning three tournaments in the process. 2010 is her first year on the LPGA tour.
Mina had a stellar junior and amateur career, earning a post on the U.S. Junior Solheim Cup team in 2005 and 2007; winning the 2007 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship; winning the California Women's Amateur Championship four times (the first time at age 13); and being a member of the 2008 U.S. Curtis Cup squad.
