How and When to Prepare

Tickets for the Masters are a hot commodity in the sports world. Unfortunately, this means they can be hard to get your hands on. The tournament releases a limited number of tickets through a lottery on their website. The cheapest way to get tickets is to enter the Augusta National lottery and hope for the best.

Other routes to acquiring tickets include getting a badge and secondary markets. Badges provide access to several days of the tournament and are relatively affordable, however, they are very rare. Tickets are also sold on secondary markets but typically go for over $1000.

Once there, make sure to land a good spot early to have the best view of the action. Road Trips recommends the top of hole 16, Amen Corner on hole 12 and the grandstand at hole 15 as some of the best places to watch the tournament.

Who to Look Out For

Many will contend for the coveted green jacket in Augusta, but only one will come out on top. The list of front runners going into a tournament is determined by a balance of each golfer's experience combined with their recent performances in past competitions. Here are some of the best golfers to look out for:

Jon Rahm

The 27-year-old out of Spain is the reigning US Open Champion and current world #1, so it’s no surprise that he’s favored to win it all in April. Rahm finished tied at 5th in 2021 and has not finished outside of the top 10 since his solo fourth in 2018.

Collin Morikawa

The Los Angeles native is the world #2 and has had an impressive last few years, winning the 2021 Open Championship and the 2020 PGA Championship. However, Morikawa is one of the younger favorites at 25, and has only played in the Masters twice, with relatively unimpressive showings in both 2020 and 2021. This could put him at a disadvantage on a course that favors experience.

Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson is a must-watch, having won a Masters already in 2020. But the world #6 may have something to prove this year. Some critics put an asterisk next to his 2020 victory because, due to COVID-19, the tournament was played in the fall rather than in April. This may have led to different conditions than usual.

Jordan Spieth

After a several-year slump, Speith seems to be back in business. Spieth has only won one tournament since 2017, but had an impressive showing at the 2021 Masters, landing 3rd. Throughout his career, Speith has won one of the best Masters records on tour, boasting a win, two seconds and a third.

Rory McIlroy

Despite his successful career, McIlroy is yet to win a Masters. He’ll hope to change that in April.

Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama is the reigning Masters winner, and will aim to defend his title. Matsuyama won the 2021 Masters to become the first player from the continent of Asia to win the tournament. However, Matsuyama’s performance since his victory in Augusta has been middling at best.

A New Golf Visor

Freshen up your Masters look with the newest edition of the Jofit golf visor. A quality visor is essential for anytime you’re out on the course. Visors block harmful UV rays and look great in the process! Whether you’re playing golf or watching from the side, you should feel comfortable in your own skin while giving it the protection it deserves.

The Jofit sun visor has grown and evolved over the last 13 years. That evolution was driven by your input and our attention to consumer voices. With your help, we’ve perfected the women's sun visor to get the most out of style and functionality. The open crown allows for scalp ventilation while the wide brim optimizes sun protection.
